A History of Care

One Promise started as a vision from Bruce White to provide safe and affordable recovery housing for women. From one recovery house to multiple recovery houses, One Promise has grown to include treatment services. One Promise added accredited and certified addictions counseling and DUI/DWI education. In July 2020 One Promise opened One Promise Behavioral Health in response to the need for accessible mental health counseling and medication management for persons seeking recovery.

Mr. White got clean in 2003, after decades of active addiction. He used the twelve step program to rebuild his life. In 2008 he opened a recovery house for women, and soon after, another recovery house for men. Mr. White went back to school, and today is an addictions counselor.

Mr. White is still an active member of Narcotics Anonymous today.
Bruce’s accomplishments are summarized best in this article about him in the Baltimore City Paper.
